Celebrating Confidence, Creativity and Collaboration Across Transform

Children doing science

Over the past year, our children have shone on stage, in science labs and in choirs — and the feedback from schools shows just how transformative these experiences have been.

Building Confidence
Across the Performing Arts Festival, Science Showcase, and Transform Choir, one message came through loud and clear: these events help children grow in confidence. Whether standing on stage, leading a science demonstration, or singing in harmony with hundreds of others, pupils stepped outside their comfort zones and discovered new strengths.

Joy and Engagement
Children loved every moment — from the excitement of bus rides to new venues, to the thrill of performing in front of an audience, to the wonder of slime and electricity experiments. The smiles, laughter and pride in their achievements show just how much joy these opportunities bring.

Community and Connection
A powerful theme was the sense of belonging. Meeting children from other schools, performing together, and sharing knowledge fostered a trust-wide community spirit. Pupils and staff alike valued these moments of collaboration, where children not only learned from each other but also felt part of something bigger than their own classrooms.

Learning Beyond the Classroom
These events stretched learning beyond the ordinary. In science, children explored experiments not usually covered in lessons and discovered a deeper love for the subject. In the arts, they learned discipline, preparation, resilience and the joy of self-expression. Choir participants experienced the inspiration of live music, professional organisation and performing alongside peers on a grand scale.

Living Our Values
What shone through each event was how closely they reflect the Transform Trust values:

Respect: Pupils celebrated the talents of others and valued each performance or experiment with kindness.

Kindness: Children encouraged and supported one another, building each other’s confidence.

Equity: Every child had the chance to participate and shine, no matter their background or individual needs.
Creativity: Performances, experiments and songs all showcased children’s imagination and innovation.

Resilience: Many overcame nerves and embraced new challenges, learning that they are capable of more than they thought.

Looking Forward
Perhaps the strongest piece of feedback across all events was simple: the children wanted more. Longer events, more variety, more opportunities to perform and more chances to share their talents. That hunger to learn, create and connect is a wonderful sign that these opportunities are making a lasting impact.

These festivals and showcases aren’t just events in the calendar; they are milestones in our children’s journeys — moments that spark confidence, curiosity and community. As we look to the future, we are excited to build on this success and create even more unforgettable opportunities for every child across our trust, continuing to live out our values every step of the way.
