World Book Day provided the perfect opportunity for Joanna to engage with our community. She led a joyful and reflective Collective Worship, where she spoke openly about her life, her faith, and her journey with Jesus. She also shared one of the devotionals from her book and led the children in a prayer.

Head Teacher Mrs Julia Burge said:
“We love to connect our children with inspirational role models who can support them in both their life and their faith. Joanna’s message is full of hope, encouragement and authenticity, and we are thrilled to welcome her into our school community. I am excited for our children to use the reflections in Joanna’s book to help them grow and deepen their faith.” 

Father Andrew Fisher added:
“On behalf of the governors, I want to thank Joanna for sharing so generously about her life, her career and her faith - and for reminding us of the God who loves us madly, absolutely and perfectly. It has been wonderful to see the children so engaged with her. A truly fantastic morning, filled with inspiration and aspiration.”

Joanna Adeyinka Burford said:
“I’ve loved my time at Bulwell St Mary’s today, sharing my book with the children. I wrote this devotional to encourage young people in every season of life. I’ve seen firsthand that God has been with me through all the ups and downs, and I want children to know that He is with them too, no matter what’s up. I’ve really enjoyed sharing that message today.”

Following the service and presentation, we all had the opportunity to meet Joanna personally during a book‑signing session - a memorable highlight to mark World Book Day 2026.
