Performing Arts
Nurturing creativity and originality
Usually at Transform Trust, we look forward to our performing arts festivals in the summer and at Christmas. It is a well anticipated event and we are very disappointed to be unable to meet this year. However that hasn’t stopped us and we have worked hard to put together a virtual festive celebration, bringing our Trust schools together in joyful song.
All of our schools of course took all of the necessary Covid-19 precautions and we think they have done an absolutely incredible job. The Transform Performing Arts Festivals have become much anticipated and hugely popular events in the Transform calendar. We hold events in the summer term and at Christmas, where children from all trust schools come together to sing, dance, perform and to showcase their prepared pieces. As well as performing to the rest of the audience, the children rehearse communal songs ahead of time that the children all enjoy together. We are now in our third year of running the festivals with our most recent Christmas Festival taking place on 3rd December 2019 which was our very best yet. 400 children wowed with their amazing performances, huge smiles and of course lots of tinsel!
We are very lucky to be so well supported by local secondary school, The Nottingham Emmanuel School, who kindly host our festivals. They not only provide the perfect venue for our staff and children to make the most of the day, but we are so warmly welcomed back every year.
The events have brought children together from across year groups and also across all of our Transform schools. The impact back in school has been incredibly positive, bringing a fresh and vibrant energy to the art curriculum and adding value to the children’s experience of the Arts as a whole.
